    Talking First ever Indoor

    O.K. here goes nothing!

I don't even know where to start. I guess the best course of action is a little info on what I have done to get ready.

#1 thing to do and the most critical part of this entire project is obtain a Doctors recommendation for Medical Marijuana. If your state does not have such a program get active in your community or move to a state that does. ( Preferably Not California) as we have way too many people already. Just kidding!

#2 research the growing guidelines in your area. For instance here in California the individual counties determine the growing guide lines. Here in Santa Cruz County any patient or caregiver can maintain a 100 square foot total combined canopy. It is most likely the most liberal county as far as that goes. Some counties go by the number of plants.

#3 Post the doctors recommendation at the entrance or just inside if the posting will draw unwanted attention to your garden.

Alright now that that is done I will say that building these rooms has been fun and at the same time consuming most of my waking thoughts. I have built two 8x9 rooms side by side and with their own entrances. I painted flat white on most of the walls and the ceiling. One wall is concrete blocks I painted it and the concrete floors with DryLock, a coating that is intended to block out any possible water or moisture. I do live in a redwood forest that gets 70 inches of rain a year average, and this is a basement. There is a hepa filter on the incoming air in the veg room down low close to the ground. I installed a 8 inch inline fan in the in the wall near the ceiling between the veg Room and the flower room it is sucking the air through the hepa filter on the other side of the room and blowing it into the flower room. Air coming into the flower room is then dropped down the wall with 8" ducting to the floor so it is down low again. Then it is pushed out of the flower room up high on the wall near the ceiling again with a 8 inch vortex fan and a charcoal filter. That warm air is vented into the rest of the basement. The rest of the basement is my workshop and it is nice have the warm air blowing in since the shop stays at about 50 degrees all year without it. I know I will be adding a dehumidifier soon as the rains come to the redwoods.

Someone with 6th grade math skills might say hey SantaCruzMts two 8x9 rooms add up to more then the 100 square foot canopy the Great County of Santa Cruz allows you. but I am able to set up 50 square feet in each room and still have room to move around and work on plants as well as keep supplies. I hate cramped spaces.

Now what do I have going on in there? I had a 600 Hps That was donated by a fellow patient. I bought two 90 watt quad band 6th gen 2009 technology LEDs I am running all three in veg now. I found some cool ways to mount lights with stuff I had laying around the shop. I will show pics!

I have Two Martian Mean Green babies, one Sour Bubble, One Bubba Kush,One Santa Cruz OG, and one Kanunga. All of these but one of the MMGs will be kept as mothers.

This is like day two of the room being running.I will be continuously updating this as I go along and will be looking for advice as well as support.I will be sharing all good or bad so here we go!!!!! You Guys and gals will be watching my success or failure! Oh yeah the flower room is sitting idle waiting for more lights, and plants that are ready to flower. I grow everything organic and in soil since outdoors is all I know. For this my first indoor grow I have chosen a 50/50 mix of Soil and Coco with some other goodies. All plants will be fed through soil amendments and teas.

Now Some Pics!! And thank you to all for the info I have already received. A lot of have helped already by your existing posts!

Looks fine but save your self some money over time and cut out the hps during the veg. stage. unless you are going for huge plants you dont need that. You can get all the growth you will need just from the LEDs. and then switch on the hps when its time to go to 12/12. thats when you will get the most from your hps anyway, if your going to use your big light use a metal halide not an hps. they need more blue spectrum in veg and more red in flowering. so the mh during veg the hps during flowering. but really you only need the LEDs when vegging. use both when flowering of course. I am watching a grow like yours now but with a 400 watt instead of a 600, with 2 90w LED ufo's . and i have seen it both ways, just LED and just mh during veg and the LEDs do just fine. they will need the hps to form really big tight colas though. the LEDs will produce good bud alone but much more with the hps. plus the hps has much better penetration for those lower buds, the LEDs mostly do good for top buds. good luck.

    Default Day 5

Here is a little peek at day 5 of new room. did a little training on the Martian Mean Green those things really grow like the weed they are. You can see on the larger MMG I have tied it down a few times. All of the others are looking pretty good very lush new growth.

    The Kanunga
bounced beck really nicely it was just thirsty. I raised the other four babies up closer to the height of the MMGs using some milk crates. Getting them closer to the LEDs.

Mixed up a batch of tea. Gonna hit um with that today as I feel they are well enough established to have a little food. Give me your thoughts.
